Hello everyone, so I have finally sort of settled in and gone through the program orientation so tomorrow starts the language pledge! Yayy. It has been a lot of fun, met some pretty solid people, had some pretty choice food, and finally am not as jet lagged as I was, ie I sleep till 4 or 5 now…. Not 1....So this is my room.

Roommate is pretty cool, he is a journalism major and currently he is studying for the TOEFL so he has been hard at work studying, he is pretty laid back, maybe I’ll get a picture with him some day.

So for getting settled in guess who got a cellphone! THIS KID, yeah and its straight back to middle school, check out this gangster phone.

Like seriously, oh and its all in Chinese, I think I finally understand my Dad's struggles with computers, Yeah I see the characters, but I have no idea what they mean, or what happens when I press it, or what that message comes up that tells me I need to unlock my phone…. What is unlock in chinese anyways? So dad, I feel ya, I would say sorry, but I’m still going to get frustrated at you. Adding a contact, 15 minute struggle, texting in Chinese……… /facepalm. Moving on. Weather is generally a balmy 10 F, never really dealt with this cold in my life, and its super dry so I got my first bloody nose…

^from night before, those are the homies I’ve been chilling with, mostly from Holy cross, and one guy from George Washington, pretty legit.

Best thing about being back is the mango juice and Oreo wafer things.

Anyways like I said classes start tomorrow, 8:25 to 3:30 or so every day with an hour lunch break, CET has this pretty cool thing where if I go to a museum or park or temple, anything that is of cultural significance, I can get reimbursed for up to 70 kuai, which isn’t that much, but it would cover the ticket. Getting my adventure on! I like to walk in a random direction from campus for about a half hour and see whats good.

So im doing great, hope everyone is doing great. Report back soon. Shout out to Captain Clark for making a VPN to bypass firewalls to play video games, turned into my way to bypass Chinese firewalls

OMG I almost forgot,,,,, THIS CAR SEAT CHAIR IS 18800 KUAI….. DO THE MATH ITS LIKE 3K…. SOO COMFY??????

  1. Maybe you need to take some English journalism notes from your roommate?. It is so great to hear "what's up", love the phone description. Glad it is going well, now you just need to figure out how to call home.
